Jim Crosbie

Jim Crosbie creates handcrafted wood vessels that enhance the environment.  The colors of his palette are formed by a myriad of wood species.  The segmented pieces are constructed in layers of rings.  The rings are joined and then turned on a lathe.  Segmented turning offers endless design possibilities.  The boxes are constructed of hand selected highly figured wood.  Corners are joined with either box joints or dovetails.  Lids are mostly attached with wooden hinges.  Pieces are finished with a linseed oil, beeswax and lacquer formula to enhance the natural beauty of the wood.
